Veteran Ottawa PR Executive Named to Media Hall of FameOttawa, ON – Ottawa public relations executive Tim Kane has been chosen as one of the first people to be inducted into the new Algonquin College Media Hall of Fame. Mr. Kane, chairman and CEO of Ottawa-based Delta Media, was a unanimous choice of the selection panel. Over the years, Tim Kane and his firm have provided scholarships and internship opportunities for students attending Algonquin College, La Cité Collégiale, University of Ottawa and Carleton University in Ottawa and St. Clair College in Windsor. He has also been a tireless supporter of his profession through the International Association of Business Communicators, Canadian Public Relations Society and a host of local, national and international causes. Recently, he spearheaded the revival of the National Press Club of Canada Foundation. The Algonquin College Media Hall of Fame honours outstanding people for their contributions to media industries in the National Capital Region. Recipients are chosen on the basis of their reputation for excellence, innovation and contributions to the community. Tim Kane founded Delta Media in 1991 following more than a decade with leading advertisers, advertising and public relations agencies and the Government of Canada. He is a graduate of St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, where he was one of that school’s first recipients of the Alumni of Distinction Award. In 2000, he was nominated for the Ontario Premier's Award for outstanding contributions to his community and profession and, in 2002, was awarded the Golden Jubilee Medal of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to Canada. Mr. Kane lives in Ottawa with his wife and business partner, Sheena Pennie. |
